🎯THURSDAY 19.00 – 20.30h
CLASS 1:
Topic 👉 THE ART OF MUSICAL PHRASES.
Musical pauses add depth and expressiveness to your tango. Learning how to pause within a phrase—and discovering the many ways to express it—can greatly enrich your dancing.
In this workshop, you will explore how to:

✓ Use pauses to highlight the music with more nuance.
✓ Choose different options to express a phrase creatively.
✓ Dance pauses not only as a leader, but also as a follower.

By practicing these skills, you’ll bring more clarity, emotion, and variety to your tango, making every dance more alive and connected.
Do you want to learn how to master the beauty of silence in your dance? Join us and find out!
**No need to come as a couple but is better

🎯FRIDAY 19.30 – 21.00h
CLASS 2:
Topic 👉 STACCATO: PRECISION, RHYTHM & CONNECTION

Interpretation of staccato in melody and countermelody
The dialogue between instruments:
1. Piano – the foundation of rhythm and pulse.
2. Bandoneón – the breath and phrasing of tango
3. Violin – the expression and melodic tension
This class explores the essence of staccato — sharp, defined, and precise movements that mirror the rhythmic interpretation of tango’s instruments. We’ll connect musicality and movement to understand how staccato lives within both the melody and the countermelody.

What you’ll gain:
✓A deeper understanding of musical structure and phrasing
✓Tools to translate instrumental accents into body movement ✓Techniques to play with weight, timing, and rhythm with your partner
✓The ability to lead or propose musical contrasts with clarity and precision
Discover how staccato becomes a conversation — between instruments, between partners, and within the music itself.
**No need to come as a couple but is better

🎯SATURDAY 16.00 – 17.30h
CLASS 3:
Topic 👉 THE MUSICAL LANGUAGE OF TANGO: FROM MARCATO 2 TO SYNCOPA

Discover one of the most characteristic rhythmic combinations in tango.
✓ Understand how marcato in 2 naturally leads into the syncopa.
✓ Explore how different orchestras — Canaro, Troilo, Fresedo, and Biagi — interpret this dialogue between beat and anticipation.

This class delves into a defining feature of the musical language of tango: the transition from marcato in 2 to syncopa. This rhythmic combination gives tango its unmistakable heartbeat, tension, and swing.

Through the contrasting styles of Canaro, Troilo, Fresedo, and Biagi, we’ll analyze how each Orchestra expresses this dialogue — from solid rhythmic grounding to playful syncopation — and how dancers can embody these nuances through movement, timing, and connection.

You’ll gain:
✓ A clear understanding of the marcato–syncopa structure as a core of tango rhythm.
✓ Tools to adapt your dance to different orchestral interpretations.
✓ Greater rhythmic awareness and expressive precision in your musicality.
**No need to come as a couple but is better

🎯SATURDAY 18.00 – 19.30h
CLASS 4:
Topic 👉 SUCCESSIVE SINCOPAS and SINCOPAS WITH QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Learn to recognize question-and-answer syncopas and chains of questions.
Work on precise weight changes — how to share them in connection or play with them individually.
In this class, we’ll dive into the rhythmical dialogue of successive syncopas — moments of pulse, anticipation, and release that bring tango alive.
We’ll explore how to anticipate and embody syncopas, how to coordinate or contrast weight changes with your partner, and how to use these patterns as musical ornaments to enhance your expression and dialogue on the dance floor.

You’ll gain:
✓ Better control and precision in weight shifts
✓ Tools to lead, follow, and share syncopated phrasing
✓ A deeper sense of rhythm, energy, and musical storytelling
**No need to come as a couple but is better

🎯SUNDAY 15.00 – 16.30h

● Síncopas in the Air — Recognizing, anticipating, and dancing the “air syncopas” that create suspension, lightness, and musical surprise within the Vals.

A practical exploration of rhythm, melody, and syncopa in the Vals.
You’ll gain:

✓ Tools to express musical questions and answers through movement
✓ Precision and timing to dance síncopas al aire naturally with your partner

Milonga Vieja. 1937. Juan D’Arienzo
● Rhythmic distinction — Understanding and embodying the difference between milonga lisa, milonga traspié, and habanera, and how each rhythm changes the dynamic and texture of the dance.
● Melodic dialogues — Exploring how to dance the melody together or separately, and how to use it as a rhythmic ornament or playful element within the couple.

Through the of Juan D’Arienzo’s milonga, we’ll explore how rhythm and melody interact to create energy, precision, and musical play.
A practical class to refine timing, enrich your interpretation, and connect rhythm and melody in every phrase.

You’ll gain:
✓ Clear recognition of milonga’s rhythmic variations
✓ Tools to express melodic dialogue in movement
✓ Greater rhythmic agility and connection inspired by D’Arienzo’s drive
**No need to come as a couple but is better

You’re welcome to join any class on its own—but I truly recommend taking all six in sequence! Each workshop builds on the previous one, starting with a solid base and then taking you higher, step by step. I can’t wait to see you there!
